Massa onaangedaan door zoektocht Ferrari naar alternatieven

Felipe Massa zegt dat het hem niets doet dat Ferrari flirtte met Mark Webber voor 2013. De Australiër sprak met de Scuderia voordat hij besloot om zijn contract bij Red Bull Racing te verlengen. Dat is wel een indicatie dat Ferrari alternatieve opties overweegt voor 2013.

Het verontrust Massa niet. "Nee, helemaal niet", begint de Braziliaan. "Ik weet zeker dat niet alleen Mark, maar meer coureurs met Ferrari praten. Meer dan vijftig rijders bellen Ferrari. Het is een groot team en vrijwel alle coureurs willen voor deze renstal racen. Dat zie ik niet als probleem."

"Het enige waar ik me mee bezig houd is presteren. Ik denk alleen maar aan mijn resultaten. Randzaken en gesprekken laat ik langs me heen gaan. Ze doen me niets. Het enige dat telt zijn resultaten. Goede prestaties vormen de sleutel voor mijn toekomst."

"Het zou beter zijn om zekerheid te hebben, maar dit hoort bij de baan. Er komt altijd een moment dat je in het laatste jaar van je contract zit en dat je vooruit moet kijken. Bij Ferrari sta je continu onder druk, met of zonder verbintenis. Daar denk ik dus niet aan."
