Masters: Paul di Resta wint, Van der Garde tweede

De Schot Paul di Resta heeft de BP Ultimate Masters of Formula 3 gewonnen op het circuit in Zandvoort. Vanwege een slechte start van pole-sitter Giedo van der Garde konden Paul di Resta en Sebastian Buemi profiteren en namen de eerste en tweede plek in beslag in het begin van de race.

Ondanks de slechte start wist Giedo van der Garde na enkele ronden aan te haken bij Buemi om hem vervolgens op slinkse wijze te passeren en de druk er op te zetten bij Di Resta. De race ontpopte zich als een spannende strijd tussen de beide teamgenoten. De Schot wist de race echter te winnen ondanks de inspanningen van Van der Garde die tweede werd. Van der Garde reed tevens de snelste ronde. Buemi finishte als derde en complementeerde daarmee het podium.

Naast Van der Garde deden ook Yelmer Buurman, Recardo Bruins en Dominick Muermans mee. De Nederlanders eindigden respectievelijk als 19e, 31ste en 32ste. Voormalig Williams-testrijder Ho Pin Tung moest voortijdig opgeven door problemen met zijn wagen.
