Hotel McLaren-monteurs geteisterd door muggenplaag

De monteurs van McLaren zijn uitgerust met anti-muggenspray voor het weekend in India. Een ware muggenplaag teistert het hotel van sponsor Hilton waarin de teamleden van de Britse renstal verblijven. De muskieten dragen mogelijk allerlei ziektes, waaronder knokkelkoorts, met zich mee.

Richard Goddard, manager van Jenson Button, legt in de Daily Mail uit: "Het Hilton is erg mooi en de mensen zijn behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Maar het hotel is vrij nieuw en misschien hebben ze niet genoeg rekening gehouden met de hoeveelheid muggen in het gebied."

Een woordvoerder van McLaren stelt dat de monteurs een krachtige anti-muggenspray tot hun beschikking hebben. Coureurs Jenson Button en Sergio Perez verblijven overigens samen met de teamleiding in een ander hotel, Jaypee Greens.
