Callum Ilott debuteert namens Trident in de F2

Callum Ilott maakt komend weekend op Silverstone zijn Formule 2-debuut. Hij is door Trident Racing opgeroepen als teamgenoot voor Nabil Jeffri. Ilott is in het dagelijks leven actief in het Europees kampioenschap Formule 3, waar hij een van de vier titelkandidaten is.

Ilott: "Ik ben dolblij om te debuteren in de Formule 2, helemaal in het voorprogramma van de Britse Grand Prix. Racen voor mijn thuispubliek op Silverstone is echt iets om naar uit te kijken. Veel coureurs die me voorgingen omschreven het als een speciale en unieke ervaring."

"Het is een geweldige mogelijkheid om te racen in een klasse waar ik zeker naar kijk met het oog op de toekomst. De deal is pas laat tot stand gekomen, waardoor ik geen tijd had om in de simulator te kruipen of veel tijd met de engineers door te brengen. Desalniettemin ben ik van plan om het meeste van dit weekend te maken, goed te presteren en zoveel mogelijk te leren."
