Hoe kan Nyck de Vries vandaag kampioen worden in de Formule 2?

Nyck de Vries zal later vandaag van pole position vertrekken tijdens de hoofdrace van de Formule 2, terwijl hij jaagt op de titel. Hoe kan de Nederlander vandaag kampioen worden?

Voor het behalen van de pole position in Rusland kreeg De Vries vier bonuspunten, waardoor hij in de laatste vier races van 2019 een voorsprong van 63 punten verdedigt ten opzichte van Nicholas Latifi. De Canadees zal vandaag naast De Vries op de eerste startrij staan. Op dit moment zijn er nog 92 punten te vergeven, waarvan 27 tijdens de race van vandaag (25 voor de zege, 2 voor het rijden van de snelste ronde).

De simpele rekensom is dus dat De Vries na vandaag dus een voorsprong van 65 punten moet hebben in de titelstrijd om de titel voor zich op te eisen. Hoe gaat de Nederlander ervoor zorgen dat hij kampioen wordt? Hij zal dan in ieder geval eerder over de finish moeten komen dan Latifi, want hij dient zijn voorsprong met in ieder geval twee punten uit te breiden.

* In principe zou De Vries overal een positie lager kunnen eindigen, omdat het verschil in dat geval precies 65 punten wordt. Mocht De Vries daarna drie keer uitvallen en Latifi de maximale score halen in de drie resterende races, dan eindigen ze in punten gelijk aan het eind van het seizoen. Latifi wordt dan kampioen op basis van het aantal behaalde zeges.

  Daar heeft de Vries niets aan. Nadat Ron Dennis gewipt is bij McLaren zijn de kansen voor de Vries alleen maar kleiner geworden in de F1.

De kampioen F2 moet mijns inziens een kans krijgen in de F1. Nick gaar nu FE doen, als beste alternatief. FIA zou het Amerikaanse model veel meer moeten volgen.

  Het veld in de F2 is dit jaar matig en er zijn nu eenmaal maar 20 zitjes in de F1
  
  en het is niet alsof coureurs die in hun 3e jaar F2/GP2 kampioen werden in het verleden erg succesvol waren in de f1, kijk naar Jolyon Palmer b.v.

  @Hika, ik zeg ook niet dat de huidige manier handig is. Maar de toekomst. Benzine en diesel gaan het niet halen. De toekomst is niet gebaseerd op fosiele brandstoffen, want die raken simpel gezegd gewoon op

  Ik moet nog zien of de FE de toekomst heeft. Dat hele klimaatverhaal is één grote farce. Sterker nog, deze week hebben zich wederom 500 wetenschappers samengepakt met de mededeling dat er niets mis is met ons klimaat. Het is de politiek die gewoon geen gezichtsverlies wil leiden en dus niet zomaar terug kan, maar het is gewoon niet houdbaar. Ik denk dat 'we' over niet al te lange tijd weer gewoon tegen normale tarieven en auto's met benzine- of dieselmotoren kunnen rijden, omdat daar op zich ook helemaal niets mis mee is. Volgens de politiek wel, volgens de wetenschap niet. De productie van elektrische auto's is in ieder geval zo ongekend vervuilend dat het echt nog lang geen voordelen biedt.
