Max Verstappen in top vijf, Ocon een klasse apart

Max Verstappen heeft in de trainingen voor de Formule 3 op de Hungaroring vier man voor zich moeten dulden. Naast de ongenaakbare Esteban Ocon waren dat Felix Rosenqvist, Antonio Fuoco en Tom Blomqvist. Verstappen gaf ongeveer zeven tienden toe op de snelste tijd.

Kampioenschapleider Ocon was een klasse apart in de oefensessie, hij leidde eigenlijk de hele training en de marge was vanaf het begin groot. De Fransman dook als enige onder de 1:36. Dennis van de Laar noteerde de negende tijd. Jules Szymkowiak moest genoegen nemen met een 21ste klassering.
