Mortara: "Goed gevoel om nu in de geschiedenisboeken te staan"

Edoardo Mortara wist vanochtend voor de twee maal in zijn carriére de Grand Prix van Macau op zijn naam te schrijven. De Italiaan is hiermee de allereerste coureur die dat ook gelukt is. Na afloop van de race op het prestigieuze stratencircuit voelde Mortara zich vereerd dat hij nu de geschiedenis ingaat als eerste coureur die tweevoudig winnaar is van de race in Macau.

"Het is een geweldig gevoel en een grote eer om nu de geschiedenisboeken in te gaan", vertelde de Signature-coureur. "En ik heb alleen maar deze race tweemaal gewonnen. We moeten echter niet vergeten dat het een zwaar seizoen was, de competitie was erg sterk. Ik werd de afgelopen dagen flink onder druk gezet door Valtteri Bottas en Laurens Vanthoor. Zij waren erg snel, maar ik moest ook erg hard blijven pushen. Het was zeker niet gemakkelijk."
