Ticktum één duizendste voor Schumacher bij test

Het Europees kampioenschap Formule 3 is neergestreken op de Red Bull Ring voor een tweedaagse testsessie. Op de eerste dag liet Red Bull-protegé Daniel Ticktum de snelste tijd noteren. De Brit van Motopark realiseerde een 1:23.037 als beste tijd op het circuit in de buurt van Spielberg.

De verschillen in de top waren echter gering. Prema-coureur Mick Schumacher gaf bijvoorbeeld maar één duizendste toe op Ticktum. Hitech GP-rijder Alex Palou was met een 1:23.087 ook niet ver weg, terwijl diens teamgenoot Enaam Ahmed met een 1:23.155 op P4 de beste rookie was.

Ticktum gaf na afloop als commentaar: "Het was een normale testdag wat mij betreft. We hebben verschillende dingen uitgeprobeerd en ik denk dat we in staat zijn om onder de 1:23 te duiken als we er echt voor gaan zitten. Dat ik de snelste was heeft me eerlijk gezegd wel verbaasd."
