Nigel Melker scoort pole position voor eerste race Zandvoort

Nigel Melker zal de eerste Euroseries-race op het circuit van Zandvoort vanaf de eerste positie aanvangen. De Nederlandse thuisheld reed als tweede beste tijd een 1:29.729 en bleef daarmee 0.028 seconden voor de tweede snelste tijd van Marco Wittmann. Wittmann reed echter wel de allersnelste tijd in de kwalificatie en heeft daarom de pole voor de derde race in handen.

Signature-rijders Wittmann en Vanthoor streden lange tijd samen met Mucke-coureur Melker om de eerste positie, maar uiteindelijk was het Wittmann die er met de pole voor de derde race vandoor ging door de snelste tijd te rijden. Zijn 1:29.602 was minder dan een tiende sneller dan de beste tijd van Melker. De Nederlander heeft echter de pole voor de eerste race veroverd op basis van zijn tweede snelste rondetijd. Daarmee bleef hij alle concurrenten voor.

Vorig jaar had hij veel pech en kon je niet echt een peil trekken hoe goed hij nou was.

Maar dit jaar doet hij het tot nu toe echt geweldig. F3 Euroseries en GP3. Zou wat zijn als hij allebei de series op zijn naam zou kunnen schrijven.
