Marco Wittmann blijft Prema-duo voor op natte Norisring

Marco Wittmann heeft vanochtend de snelste tijd gereden op het krappe circuit van de Norisring. De Duitser, die slechts 40 kilometer van het circuit vandaan woont, was op het natte asfalt een tiende sneller dan kampioenschapsleider Roberto Merhi. Diens teamgenoot Daniel Juncadella eindigde als derde.

Alleen het eerste half uur van de training konden de coureurs snelle tijden rijden, toen het asfalt nog droog was. Daarna kwam de regen naar beneden en was Wittmann 0.091 seconden sneller dan Merhi. Daniel Juncadella eindigde als derde, gevolgd door Carlos Munoz en daarachter de Israëlische gastrijder Alon Day. Nigel Melker eindigde als negende met een achterstand van zes tienden op Wittmann.
