Hannes van Asseldonk tweede bij debuut in Euroseries

Hannes van Asseldonk heeft een prima debuut achter de rug in de Formule 3 Euroseries. De Nederlander, die voor Fortec uitkomt, scoorde vandaag een tweede plaats tijdens de tweede race in Hockenheim. De overwinning ging naar Raffaelle Marciello.

Marciello kwam goed weg bij de start en sloeg al snel een gat naar zijn achtervolgers. Het groepje van achtervolgers werd al snel aangevoerd door Hannes van Asseldonk, die in de eerste ronde polesitter Lucas Wolf voorbij was gereden. De Nederlander kon echter niet meestrijden om de overwinning en moest zes seconden toegeven op Marciello bij de finish.

Felix Rosenqvist, de eerste coureur in de uitslag die al een seizoen ervaring heeft in de Euroseries, eindigde als derde, gevolgd door Will Buller. Carlos Sainz jr. kwam als vijfde over de streep, Sven Muller eindigde als zesde en polesitter Wolf kwam niet verder dan de zevende stek. Daniel Juncadella, winnaar van de eerste race en titelfavoriet, kende een goed begin van de race waarin hij vier plaatsen won en al snel op de vierde positie reed. De Spanjaard had echter een touché met Buller en moest in de pitstraat uitvallen.
