Juncadella houdt Sainz van zich af in derde Euroseries-race

Daniel Juncadella heeft zijn twee zege van het weekend te pakken. Op het circuit van Hockenheim was de Spaanse coureur in de derde race nét iets te sterk voor landgenoot Carlos Sainz jr. Hannes van Asseldonk lag lange tijd op de zesde plaats, maar kwam uiteindelijk als zevende over de finish.

Juncadella is de grote favoriet voor de titel in zijn derde seizoen Euroseries. De Spanjaard maakte deze favorietenrol in de eerste race al waar door te winnen, vandaag deed het dat nog eens dunnetjes over. Hij moest er wel hard voor werken. Carlos Sainz jr. kwam in de slotfase steeds dichterbij aan de leider in de race, maar gaf uiteindelijk nog zeven tienden toe op Juncadella.

Felix Rosenqvist pakte de derde en laatste podiumplaats, al was het gat naar het leidende duo wel erg groot: bijna vijftien seconden. Lynn eindigde als vierde, gevolgd door Muller, Buller, Van Asseldonk en Wehrlein.
