Andretti doet voor Uruguay beroep op Vergne

Jean-Eric Vergne debuteert komend weekend in Punta del Este in Uruguay in de Formule E. De door Scuderia Toro Rosso aan de kant geschoven Fransman is opgeroepen door Andretti Autosport. Hij krijgt gezelschap van team- en landgenoot Franck Montagny.

Vergne is na Charles Pic en Matthew Brabham de derde stalgenoot van Montagny in dit Formule E-seizoen. "Je krijgt niet vaak de kans om in deze tijd van het jaar te racen. Ik verheug me echt op deze mogelijkheid, helemaal als je bedenkt dat Punte del Este de locatie is."

"Ik heb geen ervaring in deze klasse, maar ik kijk uit naar het racen in de Formule E en ook nog eens voor een prestigieus team als Andretti. Het doel is om vooraan mee te doen en het jaar met een hoogtepunt af te sluiten", aldus Vergne.
