Alex Fontana stapt in bij het team van Trulli

Alex Fontana maakt dit weekend zijn debuut in de Formule E. De 22-jarige Zwitser zal in Londen uitkomen voor het team van voormalig Formule 1-coureur Jarno Trulli, de teambaas/coureur. Fontana vervangt Vitantonio Liuzzi, die elders verplichtingen heeft.

De Zwitser maakt onderdeel uit van het talentenprogramma van Lotus F1 Team. Hij is sinds 2013 actief in de GP3, zonder daarin heel opzienbarende resultaten te behalen. Fontana beklom in de voorbije twee seizoenen in totaal drie keer het podium. Dit jaar staat zijn teller op zeven punten.
