Vergne, De Silvestro beoogd duo Andretti

Het Formule E-team van Andretti Autosport heeft de line-up voor komend seizoen bijna rond. Motorsport.com bericht dat de Amerikaanse renstal de tweede jaargang in de elektrische klasse aan zal vangen met het duo Jean-Eric Vergne en Simona de Silvestro.

Vooral met het aanblijven van Vergne heeft Andretti een flinke slag geslagen. De Fransman was ook in gesprek met twee andere Formule E-teams. Het gevaar bestaat wel dat Vergne na de eerste drie ronden Andretti Autosport weer verlaat. Hij heeft in zijn contract een clausule op laten nemen dat hij weg mag bij een kans om te racen in de Formule 1 en hij is in beeld bij Haas F1 Team.

Vergne was de afgelopen jaargang al namens Andretti actief in de elektrische klasse. De Fransman beklom drie keer het podium en legde in de eindstand beslag op de zevende plaats. De Silvestro maakte in het slotweekend van het seizoen 2014/2015 haar debuut in de Formule E.
