Formule E droomt van finalerace in New York

Als het aan Formule E-organisator Alejandro Agag ligt, dan vindt de finale van het seizoen 2016/2017 plaats in de straten van New York. De Amerikaanse stad staat hoog op zijn verlanglijstje. Punta del Este en Beijing staan juist op de nominatie om van de kalender af te vallen.

Agag deelde aan Autosport mede: "Mijn droom is een ePrix in New York. Ik ben actief bezig met een plan om daar een race te organiseren. Misschien lukt het me om die wedstrijd aan het einde van ons derde seizoen te plaatsen. Het wordt moeilijk, maar het is niet onmogelijk. Het is nog vroeg, maar we moeten binnenkort knopen doorhakken."

"Een of twee races die nu op het schema staan, vallen mogelijk af. Het is helaas niet duidelijk of we doorgaan met Punta del Este. Ik ga er graag heen. We hebben gesproken, maar Punta is de voornaamste kandidaat om af te vallen. We moeten ook keuzes maken over Beijing. Ik ben geneigd om die race te houden, het is een belangrijke markt."
