Monaco zal ePrix van Moskou niet vervangen

Een poging om de ePrix van Moskou te vervangen door een een ePrix in de straten van Monaco is mislukt. De Formule E-organisatie liet vorige maand weten dat de ePrix van Moskou onder druk is komen te staan vanwege het niet goedkeuren van het afzetten van de straten rondom het Kremlin in Moskou door de autoriteiten.

Na dit nieuws heeft de organisatie contact gehad met beleidsbepalers in Monaco. Het doel van de organisatie was om het voor elkaar te krijgen de ePrix van Monaco een week na de Formule 1 Grand Prix te houden. Logistieke redenen zorgen er echter voor dat een ePrix in Monaco op 4 juni niet mogelijk is. Het is onmogelijk de Formule 1 paddock in minder dan een week om te bouwen tot een Formule E paddock.

Een race later in juni bleek ook niet haalbaar, omdat er dan een ander groot evenement in Monaco plaatsvindt. De mensen in Monaco hebben de organisatie wel laten weten in de toekomst graag een ePrix te willen organiseren. Vorig jaar werd er wel gereden in de straten van Monaco, zij het op een korte versie van het circuit.
