Michelin langer bandenleverancier van de Formule E

Michelin vertolkt ook de komende jaren de rol van bandenleverancier voor de Formule E. De Franse bandenfabrikant heeft het contract met de elektrische raceklasse verlengd tot en met 2021. Michelin is al sinds het begin een van de vaste partners van de Formule E.

Formule E-baas Alejandro Agag: "Ik ben verguld om de samenwerking met Michelin, de eerste partner die zich aan onze serie verbond, voort te zetten. Michael heeft vanaf de eerste dag in ons concept geloofd en deelde onze visie om een platform te creëren waar technologie voor automobielen van de toekomst getest en ontwikkeld kan worden. Michelin voorziet ons van banden die aansluiten op onze wensen en die tegelijkertijd relevant zijn voor alledaags gebruik."

Michelin-motorsportbaas Pascal Couasnon: "Michelin geloofde vanaf het begin in de Formule E en voegde zich als een van de oprichtende partners bij de serie. Na drie seizoenen is deze klasse al uitgegroeid tot een platform voor innovatie en kiezen de grootste merken ter wereld om hieraan deel te nemen. De bijdrage van de Formule E aan de evolutie van de automobiel is overduidelijk en Michelin wil samen met de FIA, Alejandro Agag en alle teams werken aan duurzame mobiliteit."
