ABB verbindt zich als titelsponsor aan Formule E

Het Formule E-kampioenschap gaat vanaf nu officieel door het leven als het 'ABB FIA Formula E Championship'. Technologieconcern ABB heeft zich als titelsponsor aan de elektrische klasse verbonden. Dat is een primeur; voor het eerst in de geschiedenis heeft een kampioenschap van de internationale autosportbond FIA een titelsponsor omarmd.

Formule E-baas Alejandro Agag: "Dit is een historische dag voor de Formule E en ik ben vereerd om het globale technologieconcern ABB als titelsponsor van onze klasse te verwelkomen. Met een achtergrond en expertise op gebied van elektrificatie en digitale technologieën is ABB de ideale partner voor de Formule E. Onze twee bedrijven staan synoniem voor het verleggen van grenzen. Samen zullen we baanbrekende technologie aan fans en klanten wereldwijd tentoonspreiden."

ABB-directeur Ulrich Spiesshofer: "We slaan met alle plezier en hoge verwachtingen de handen ineen met de Formule E om samen nieuwe hoofdstukken op gebied van elektrische mobiliteit te schrijven. Twee pioniers gaan met elkaar in zee. ABB en de Formule E passen perfect bij elkaar aan het front van de ontwikkeling van elektrificatie en digitale technologie.
