FIA bevestigt de elf constructeurs voor 2019/2020

De internationale autosportbond FIA en de leiding van de Formule E hebben de lijst met de elf constructeurs voor het zesde seizoen van de elektrische raceklasse aangekondigd. Zoals verwacht zijn Mercedes-Benz en Porsche gehomologeerd als nieuwe aanwinsten voor de jaargang 2019/2020. De homologatie geldt voor twee seizoenen. In 2021/2022 begint een nieuwe cyclus.

Dit zijn de elf constructeurs voor het seizoen 2019/2020:

BMW AG
DS Automobiles
Jaguar Land Rover
Mahindra Racing
Mercedes-Benz
NextEV NIO
Penske Autosport
Porsche AG
Nissan
Venturi Automobiles

FIA-voorzitter Jean Todt: "Het landschap voor de Formule 1 dijt in de toekomst alleen maar verder uit. Vandaag kunnen we twee nieuwe constructeurs bevestigen voor het zesde seizoen. Dat is nieuw bewijs voor het succes van dit concept. Mercedes-Benz en Porsche zijn merken met een lange en rijke historie in de autosport. Het niveau van de elf inschrijvingen voor 2019/2020 ligt over de gehele linie zeer hoog. De toewijding van autofabrikanten voor duurzame technologie is bemoedigend."

Formule E-baas Alejandro Agag: "Ik ben verguld om Mercedes-Benz en Porsche naast de bestaande teams op de lijst met gehomologeerde constructeurs voor ons zesde seizoen te zien staan. We blijven de verwachtingen die we vier jaar geleden hadden toen we dit avontuur in gang zetten maar overtreffen. Als je me destijds gezegd had dat we nu al in de dubbele cijfers zouden staan wat betreft de deelname van grote autofabrikanten en merken uit de automobielindustrie, dan had ik je voor gek verklaard. Tel daarbij op dat de lijst met partners maar blijft groeien en het is duidelijk dat de Formule E zich heeft ontpopt tot een opwindende tak van autosport."

  @Roy: Yep, zie het nu net ook na een F5 te doen..... Daardoor raakte ik dus van mijn padje en werd ik in eerste instantie blij.....

FE is op dit moment een marketingklasse voor fabrikanten, na een tijdje is dat nieuwtje er ook weer vanaf.

  en ik blijf het zeggen: al gaan alle autofabrikanten ter wereld zich aanmelden voor deze klasse...alleen een verdwaalde hond en een blinde koe kijken ernaar op dit moment, laat staan dat ze ooit 300 euro over hebben voor een kaartje voor autosport zonder motorgeluid.

  Ik betwijfel het... Wanneer ze gewoon out of the box blijven denken, blijft de nieuwswaarde er hangen. Wanneer die auto's eenmaal 350 over stratencircuits gaan dan heeft de Formule 1 een probleem. Nu zie ik ze dat de aankomende 4 jaar niet halen met de Gen2 auto.

Tja, het is niet helemaal mijn ding. Maar dat zei ik ook over de elektrische fiets.
ik heb 'm nog steeds niet, maar ik zie zelfs vele scholieren ermee rijden.
En die met een kentekenplaatje achterop zijn niet meer bij te fietsen...

Kortom, ik word een fossiel en die anderen zijn de toekomst.. ;)
