Agag verwacht komend seizoen een doorbraak voor de Formule E

De CEO van de Formule E, Alejandro Agag gelooft dat het vijfde seizoen van de Formule E wel eens het seizoen van de doorbraak zou kunnen worden voor de elektrische raceklasse. In de toekomst verwacht hij dat de Formule E op hetzelfde niveau gaat presteren als de Formule 1. 

"Ik denk dat het vijfde seizoen hét grote seizoen gaat worden voor de Formule E. Het vijfde seizoen gaat het moment van de waarheid worden voor de Formule E", zegt Agag tegenover Reuters.

"Mensen komen hier nu naartoe en gaan er vanuit dat dit een langetermijnproject is, die een grote rol gaat spelen in de auto-industrie en in de autosport-industrie. We kunnen niet falen. We hebben nieuwe fabrikanten en nieuwe sponsors. Dat is geweldig, maar betekent ook dat we meer verantwoordelijkheden hebben."

"De elektrische auto's gaan sneller en sneller. We gaan richting kleinere batterijen die ongelooflijk snel opladen en dezelfde hoeveelheid power bevatten. Dit betekent dat de auto's minder gewicht met zich meedragen, dus de prestaties gaan heel erg vooruit. Ik denk dat de vierde of vijfde generatie auto's ervoor kunnen zorgen dat we op hetzelfde niveau presteren als de Formule 1."

    Het lijkt inderdaad wat beter te gaan. Het wisselen van de auto's vond ik nog wel het ergste. Beter zou zijn dat ze het batterijpakket konden wisselen in een pitstop. Dat zou ook voor reguliere e wagens kunnen werken.

    Het lijkt ook dat de kwaliteit van de coureurs wat omhoog gaat.

    Op hetzelfde niveau presteren als de F1 denk ik dan weer niet. In dat geval is er nog maar één klasse. Waarschijnlijk de F1 die volledig elektrisch is.

      Persoonlijk vind ik de ATTACK MODE geniaal. een combi van Push to Pass en een Jokerlane. Je maakt ruimte (dus kan aangevallen worden of iemand dicht het gat) om meer power te krijgen voor 1 tot 2 minuten (afhankelijk per circuit hoelang en hoevaak t mag). Heb je net de Attack mode geactiveerd en er komt een safetycar... dan ben je dus ineens in t nadeel. FE was al onvoorspelbaar, maar dit kan het nog wel eens verhogen.

      Het ergste vindt ik de fan boost. Voor de rest een klasse die zich mooi ontwikkelt en persoonlijk vond ik dexauto wissel niet zo heel erg toen ze de minimale pitstop tijd éénmaal hadden afgeschaft.

      De snelheid als genoemd in het artikel zal zeker komen, de beleving zal voor velen nog wennen zijn dat het geen geluid gaat geven als bij de verbrandingsmotor.
      Het spel en spanning moet komen van zekere gelijkwaardigheid (technisch en financieel) met speelruimte in de regels voor innovatie.
      Dit is wat de F1 gewoon mist. 6 auto' s van de 20 die om de prijzen rijden en de rest is veldvulling werkt niet, ondanks de onderlinge middenveld gevechten.

      De trekkracht in mijn eigen FEV is voldoende @Arie.
      Laat het formule (E) gebeuren wel over aan de echte coureurs.

      Ziggo Select of Racing, soms ook Eurosport of Eurosport Duitsland. Maar inderdaad, de uitzendtijden zijn een legpuzzel. Soms live, soms is darts of snooker belangrijker en dan komt ineens de "uitgebreide samenvatting" om 1 uur 's nachts.

      Ziggo Racing is volgens mij altijd live. Ook redelijk goed commentaar dat objectief is. Eurosport snap ik voor geen bal. altijd programma's die elkaar overlappen waardoor de gids niet meer klopt
