Voorbeschouwing Formule E-seizoen 2018-2019: Deel 3 - Coureurs en Formule E naar de 'Lage Landen'

Met de introductie van de nieuwe Gen2-auto begint het Formule E-kampioenschap dit weekend aan haar vijfde seizoen. Vanaf dit seizoen zijn de autowissels, die in de eerste vier seizoenen plaatsvonden, verleden tijd. Tijd voor F1Today om een voorbeschouwing te maken voor het seizoen 2018-2019. Kan de Formule E-klasse daadwerkelijk uitgroeien tot een representatieve klasse?

Televisie

Ziggo Sport zal dit jaar opnieuw verslag doen van de Formule E-races. De zender heeft sinds dit seizoen ook de kwalificatie ter beschikking. De eerste uitzending zal op zaterdag 15 december plaatsvinden om 8.35 uur op hun Racing-kanaal. De race zal vanaf 12.00 uur te zien zijn op hetzelfde kanaal. Voor mensen die geen premium Ziggo-pakket hebben, is de samenvatting te zien op het vrije Ziggo kanaal (mits beschikbaar in uw huishouden). Deze samenvatting zal eveneens op zaterdag om 22.35 uur beginnen, direct na afloop van de stadsderby tussen Torino en Juventus.

Formule E in Nederland en Belgie

Belgie heeft inmiddels een historie met de Formule E, hetzij eentje die men in Brussel liever vergeet. De Brussel ePrix stond aanvankelijk voor het seizoen 2016-2017 op de kalender. Op 26 januari 2017 werd de race van de kalender verwijderd. Reden hiervoor was dat de lokale regering van Brussel tegen de infrastructuur-plannen was die nodig zouden zijn om de race te kunnen herbergen. Het circuit dat rondom het Heizel-Stadion zou worden aangelegd stond al op papier. Formule E zocht naar een alternatief en kwam hierbij uit in Koekelberg. Ook dit project kon geen doorgang vinden. Het zou onmogelijk zijn voor Brussel om dat gedeelte van de stad af te sluiten. Bij afsluiting zou er namelijk een verkeersinfarct plaats kunnen vinden, aangezien de race gepland was voor de zomer. Er werd geen andere locatie meer gevonden en de Formule E besloot op 9 maart 2017 om het evenement af te gelasten. Hierdoor werd de race in Berlijn als 'doubleheader' verreden.

Voor zover bekend is er in Nederland weinig tot geen serieuze animo om een ePrix te organiseren. De Nederlandse autosport heeft haar zinnen namelijk gezet op een Formule 1-race. Toch zijn er door Alejandro Agag al oproepen gedaan om Nederland te interesseren voor een race. Het elektrisch rijden is in Nederland zeer pupolair, dit vanwege de hoge subsidies die de automobilist krijgt. Tot op heden heeft zich geen enkele stad kandidaat gesteld voor zo'n evenement. Agag vertelde hier het volgende over: "Ik ben nog niet benaderd, maar zou het graag willen organiseren. Kom maar op!"

klopt wel ja alleen de naam is niet juist het zou de fd moeten zijn de d van de diesel die ze verstoken om de auto's op te laden .
kost hoorde ik meer brandstof dan de f1 nodig heeft dus moeten we er nog mee door gaan is dan de vraag

Mooie raceklasse met een indrukwekkend rijdersveld. Zelden een saaie race en dit lijkt het mooiste seizoen tot nu toe te worden. Wordt weer genieten.

  Ik meende dat Wehrlein de eerste race moet afzien en Rosenqvist dit weekend rijdt. Dit omdat Mercedes het contract niet vervroegd wil ontbinden dat nog loopt van DTM. Best sneu eigenlijk...

  Thanks, maar ligt het nou aan mij of lijken die tijden niet te kloppen met elkaar? Of houdt het in dat Eurosport en Youtube een uurtje later beginnen en niet live zijn (zie ook tijdzones)?

  Dat klopt idd. Maar moet je dat de raceklasse aanrekenen of juist de energie-giganten die alleen zoveel energie op kunnen wekken via vervuilende manieren? Persoonlijk vind ik het een punt dat bij de zonnepaneel giganten, windenergie etc ligt... Ze kunnen simpelweg niet voldoen aan de vraag die er is in de wereld. Kernenergie is velen malen schoner en veiliger wanneer met Thorium zou gebruiken ipv uranium
