McLaren sluit deal met Saoedisch project voor elektrische raceteams

Het team van McLaren is tegenwoordig niet alleen meer actief in de Formule 1. Aankomend seizoen komen ze ook uit in twee elektrische kampioenschappen. Sinds dit seizoen racet het Britse team al in de Extreme E. Aankomend seizoen verschijnen ze eveneens aan de start van de bekende Formule E klasse.

McLaren deelde gister de eerste foto's van de Formule E-bolide in de kleuren van het team. Deze presentatie ging samen met een aankondiging van de nieuwe hoofdsponsor van beide elektrische projecten. Het Saoedische project NEOM wordt namelijk de nieuwe strategische partner. Deze duurzame regio zal fungeren als titelsponsor van de teams en het logo is dan ook aanwezig op beide bolides.

    Hoe zetten we Saudi-Arabië weer in een goed daglicht, met dit soort acties, geld maakt alles goed.



    Saudi-Arabië bouwt een futuristische mega-stad die 33 keer zo groot moet worden als de stad New York. De stad gaat Neom heten en wordt helemaal vanaf de grond af opgebouwd.

    Saudische officials noemen de bouw van Neom “het meest ambitieuze project ter wereld”. De stad verrijst aan de kust van de Rode Zee in de noord-westelijke Saoedische provincie Tabuk.


    Kroonprins Mohammed bin Salman zei in oktober 2018 tegen Bloomberg dat Neom klaar is in 2025. De eerste bouwfase is volgend jaar al gereed.

    Aangezien het hier over McLaren gaat ...... Hier een nieuwtje over Ricciardo.

    Apple kondigde al een film in samenwerking met Brad Pitt en Lewis Hamilton aan en nu volgt ook Hulu.

    Hulu is een platform dat onderdeel uitmaakt van Disney en onder die koepel wordt er een serie gemaakt met McLaren-coureur Daniel Ricciardo die bestaat uit gescripte afleveringen van een half uur in de wereld van de Formule 1.
    Details over de serie zijn verder nog niet bekend. De serie komt van
    ABC Signature, Lionsgate Television en Temple Hills Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Phoebe Zimmer en Sydney Title.
    Ricciardo zal de productie op zich nemen.

      A search is under way for writers for the half-hour series from ABC Signature, Temple Hill and Lionsgate TV.

      Hulu is getting into the driver’s seat.

      The Disney-backed streamer is teaming with driver Daniel Ricciardo to develop a half-hour scripted series that is set in the world of Formula 1 racing.

      Details about the project’s logline are being kept under wraps. A search for a writer is under way.

      The series, which is currently in the early development stages, hails from ABC Signature, Lionsgate Television and Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Phoebe Zimmer and Sydney Title. Ricciardo, who currently drives for McLaren and has won an impressive eight Grand Prix races, will exec produce.

      The news comes as racing projects have been heating up the TV and film landscape. Apple recently landed a Formula 1 feature starring Brad Pitt following a competitive bidding war, and Netflix recently mounted a NASCAR-backed comedy series starring Kevin James, The Crew, which was canceled after one season. Apple also recently landed a feature documentary about British F1 racer Lewis Hamilton.

    Ach leuk stikkertje. Mclaren moet ergens hun geld vandaan toveren. Saudi Arabie past goed bij het amerikaanse abortusbeleid dus een afkeurende vinger krijgen ze nooit vanuit het westen.

    Nooit gedacht dat ik t zou zeggen, maar amerika was beter af met Trump. Maar vooral zijn ze veel slechter af na Obama.

    Als het over Saudi-Arabië gaat op internet, dan volgen ze het gelijk van de Nederlandse staat, the keywords, Saudi-Arabië.

    Die hebben een deal voor het leven met Nederland, dat zag je ook toen Jamal Khashoggi van het toneel verdwenen was.

    Saudi-Arabië zullen ze altijd beschermen wat er ook gebeurd.
