Deletraz wint eerste race, Visser negende

Louis Deletraz heeft de eerste race van het Formule V8 3.5 gewonnen in het Spaanse Aragon. De Zwitser, zoon van voormalig Formule 1-coureur Jean-Deniz Deletraz, startte als tweede maar pakte binnen een paar bochten de leiding om vervolgens met een voorsprong van elf seconden als winnaar over de meet te komen. Beitske Visser zag haar kansen op een topklassering verdwijnen nadat ze van achteren werd aangereden door Piettro Fittipaldi. Visser finishte uiteindelijk als negende.

Voor Deletraz was er dus geen vuiltje aan de lucht. Bij de start kwam iedereen goed weg, maar de Orudzhev was binnen een ronde klaar. De Rus, gestart vanaf pole, gooide zijn eigen glazen in door in de eerste ronde meerdere keren buiten de baan te belanden. Zijn laatste uitstapje bleek teveel van het goede: Orudzhev kon uitstappen.

Held van de race Matthieu Vaxiviere. De Fransman kende een geweldige start vanaf de tiende plaats en lag binnen een ronde al op de tweede plaats. De laatste podiumplek ging naar Tom Dillmann. Voor Beitske Visser zag het er goed uit, totdat zij werd aangereden van achteren. Door de aanrijding moest Visser naar binnen voor een stop en viel ze terug tot buiten de top tien. Uiteindelijk wist de enige dame in het veld zich terug te knokken naar een negende plaats.

Door zijn overwinning scoort Deletraz 25 punten en staat hij aan de leiding van het kampioenschap. Morgen om 13:40 wordt de tweede race van het weekend verreden op Aragon.

beitske was goed weg 5e , lekke band door een achterop.
Daarna nog van ver weg terug op plek 9
