WEC en Formule V8 3.5 slaan handen ineen

De Formule V8 3.5 bundelt vanaf 2017 de krachten met het World Endurance Championship. De Formule V8 3.5 staat volgend seizoen bij drie van de vier Europese rondes en in Mexico, Japan en Bahrein in het voorprogramma van de races in het WEC.

De Europese evenementen waarin de Formule V8 3.5 het WEC-programma omlijst zijn Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps en de Nürburgring. De samenwerking heeft tot gevolg dat de nummers één, twee en drie uit het Formule V8 3.5-kampioenschap aan het einde van het jaar aan de Rookie Test van het WEC deel mogen nemen.

WEC-directeur Gerard Neveu: "Het is verheugend nieuws dat de Formule V8 3.5 vanaf 2017 onderdeel uitmaakt van de WEC-weekenden. Dat is goed nieuws voor de fans, maar ook voor de jonge coureurs, want dat zijn de kampioenen van de toekomst."

Nou alleen hopen dat het deelnemersveld nog iets verbetert. Achter Tom Dilmann gaapt een heel groot gat qua kwaliteit. Toch wel grappig dat de nummers 2 de zonen van beroemde F1-rejects zijn: Roy Nissany, zoon van Chanoch Nissany, die zo'n last van g-krachten kreeg dat hij klaagde over teveel gri... [Lees verder]
