Mike Conway tekent bij Trident Racing

Mike Conway heeft zich verzekerd van een plek op de GP2-grid voor 2008. De Engelsman heeft een bewogen seizoen bij Super Nova achter de rug en stapt over naar het team van Trident Racing. Conway: Het is geweldig dat ik nu al weet dat ik er in 2008 gewoon weer bij ga zijn. Ik kan nu zonder zorgen naar de jaarwisseling en wil volgend jaar hoge ogen gooien met Trident Racing.

Hij vervolgt: Het team heeft goede statistieken en ik denk dat ik volgend seizoen in elk raceweekend op het podium kan komen. Ik ben nu geen debutant meer, ik ken alle banen en heb wat ervaring en dat zal me helpen om vanaf het begin van het nieuwe seizoen meteen vooraan mee te doen. Ik geloof er heilig in dat ik met Trident Racing in 2008 de GP2-titel voor me kan opeisen.

Trident Racing heeft nog geen teamgenoot voor Conway gevonden. Vorig jaar won het team de meest prestigieuze race van het jaar. In Monaco bleef Pastor Maldonado het hele veld voor in zijn Trident Racing-auto.
