Giovinazzi start hoofdrace achteraan wegens onreglementaire bolide

Prema Powerteam-coureur Antonio Giovinazzi heeft een flinke deuk in zijn titelaspiraties opgelopen. De Italiaan kwalificeerde zich als vierde voor de hoofdrace, maar bij de technische keuring bleek de hoogte van de vloer niet aan de reglementen te voldoen.

Giovinazzi staat momenteel tweede in het GP2-kampioenschap, achter teamgenoot Pierre Gasly. Gasly start de race als tweede en kan dus goede zaken om het kampioenschap. Voor Giovinazzi, die beide races in Baku won, is het te hopen dat hij zich op kan werken naar de achtste plaats. Die plaats geeft namelijk recht op pole voor de sprintrace. De hoofdrace in de GP2 gaat vanmiddag om 15:40 uur van start.
