iSport contracteert Bird en Ericsson voor 2011

iSport International heeft de line-up voor het komende GP2-seizoen rond. Sam Bird en Marcus Ericsson verdedigen in 2011 de eer van de Britse renstal. Dat maakte het team op de Autosport International Show bekend. Bird reed vorig jaar voor ART en Ericsson komt over van Super Nova.

Bird: Ik ben erg opgewonden over dit alles. Het is de juiste stap op het juiste moment voor mijn tweede jaar in de GP2. iSport heeft de expertise om me tot het uiterste te dwingen en ook mijn teamgenoot zal mij pushen. We zijn klaar voor een gooi naar de titel. Vorig jaar was geweldig, maar ik moet het dit jaar een paar stapjes beter doen en daarvoor zit ik op de juiste plek.

Ericsson: Mijn eerste jaar in de GP2 was zwaar, maar ik heb veel geleerd en zie iSport als de beste stap voor dit jaar. Ze hebben een succesvolle staat van dienst in de GP2 en ik ken ze al een geruime tijd. De afgelopen drie jaar heb ik voor ze getest en dit voelt natuurlijk. Ik geloof echt in iSport. De concurrentie is met Addax en ART hevig, het wordt een mooi maar moeilijk seizoen.
