Romain Grosjean klasse apart in vrije training Monte Carlo

Romain Grosjean heeft zojuist de snelste tijd gereden in de vrije training van de GP2 Series in Monaco. De Fransman was met zijn 1:22.368 ruim een seconde sneller dan Dani Clos. Giedo van der Garde eindigde de training als tiende.

Grosjean was duidelijk de beste coureur in de straten van Monaco. De Fransman was de enige rijder die een serie van enkele 'schone' ronden kon rijden in één run. Halverwege stond Grosjean al aan kop en vond hij zelfs nog eens een halve seconde. Daardoor reed hij acht tienden voor Dani Clos op dat moment.

Daar bleef het echter niet bij. Grosjean vond nog eens drie tienden in zijn laatste snelle ronden en eindigde zodoende 1,1 seconden voor op Clos. Lokale held Stefano Coletti reed naar een knappe derde tijd, gevolgd door Luca Filippi. De Italiaan pushte op het einde wat teveel en zorgde voor een vroeg einde aan zijn training. Drie minuten voor het einde spinde Filippi namelijk.

Davide Valsecci, die de vijfde tijd reed, kwam ook niet geheel ongeschonden uit de strijd. De Italiaan raakte zijn achtervleugel kwijt bij het opkomen bij het start-finish stuk. Jules Bianchi eindigde als zesde, gevolgd door Johnny Cecotto, Esteban Gutierrez en Max Chilton. Hierdoor viel Giedo van der Garde terug tot de tiende positie.

en weer is Grosjean sneller met zijn GP2 auto dan een paar van de langzaamste F1 teams.

maar in de 2e training denk ik dat de hrt en virgin\'s dit wel alweer even recht gaan zetten.

  @ Cyriel: Renault zou hem nog wel een tweede kans moeten geven vind ik. Slechter dan Heidfeld doet hij het vast niet...
  Petrov en Grosjean lijkt me een goed duo!
