Zuber en Carroll winnen op Silverstone

Andreas Zuber heeft zijn eerste GP2-zege binnen. Op het circuit van Silverstone startte de coureur van iSport International van pole position voor de race van zaterdag en die koppositie stond hij niet meer af. Mike Conway en Kazuki Nakajima maakten het podium compleet.

De tweede race werd een prooi voor Adam Carroll. De Engelsman bleef in zijn thuisrace Pastor Maldonado en Kazuki Nakajima voor. Dat Carroll won mag opvallend genoemd worden. De coureur reed pas zijn vierde race van het seizoen.

Voor kampioenschapleider Timo Glock was het een weekend om snel te vergeten. In race 1 viel hij uit met een technisch probleem. In race 2 had hij zich teruggeknokt tot de tiende plek, maar werd toen uit de race geramd door Adrian Zaugg. Voor Glock betekende dat zijn vierde uitvalbeurt op een rij en zijn voorsprong in het kampioenschap is bijna volledig verdwenen.

Voor Ho-Pin Tung was er weinig eer te behalen. De Nederlander reed achter in het middenveld en finishte twee maal ver buiten de punten. Een zeventiende plek in race 1 werd in race 2 gevolgd door een vijftiende stek.
