Richie Stanaway completeert line-up van Status GP

Richie Stanaway is als derde coureur bevestigd bij het team van Status GP. Daarmee heeft die renstal de line-up rond voor komend GP3-seizoen. Stanaway, een 22-jarige Nieuw-Zeelander, maakte in 2011 furore door de Duitse Formule 3-titel te winnen en bij zijn debuut in de GP3 op Spa meteen te zegevieren.

Zijn opmars werd gestuit door een rugblessure na een crash in de World Series by Renault in 2012. Nu is hij terug in de GP3, als teamgenoot van Nick Yelloly en Alfonso Celis junior bij Status GP. Stanaway: "Ik ben Gravity Sports Management, Aston Martin Racing en Status GP dankbaar voor deze kans. Het was altijd mijn hoop dat mijn rugblessure slechts een tijdelijke terugslag voor mijn carrière in de eenzitters zou betekenen, niet het einde van de rit. Ik ben blij dat ik nu een nieuwe mogelijkheid krijg. En de GP3 is de perfecte serie om te beginnen."
