Kevin Jörg heeft de laatste testdag in de voorbereiding op het nieuwe GP3-seizoen afgesloten op een eerste plaats. De coureur van nieuwkomer DAMS zette in de middag een tijd neer van 1:35.358 en daar kon niemand aan tippen. Teamgenoot Jake Hughes eindigde op drie tienden als tweede.

De ochtendsessie op het Circuit de Catalunya nabij Barcelona was grotendeels in het water gevallen. Regenbuien trokken over de baan en zorgden voor verraderlijke omstandigheden en langzame tijden. Nyck de Vries belandde nog een keer in de grindbak bij bocht 5 en veroorzaakte zo een rode vlag.

Na de lunchpauze klaarde het op en droogde het asfalt langzaam maar zeker op. Daardoor duikelden de tijden omlaag. De Vries en Steijn Schothorst bleven uiteindelijk steken in de middenmoot, respectievelijk op een vijftiende en zestiende plaats met een 1:36.496 en een 1:36.551.
