Servia op parttime basis aan de slag bij RLL Racing

Oriol Servia verdedigt dit jaar in vijf weekenden de kleuren van Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. De Spanjaard is zeker van deelname aan de races in Long Beach, Alabama, Indianapolis en de Indy 500. Het is de bedoeling dat daar nog minstens één wedstrijd bij komt.

"Continuïteit is een belangrijk bestanddeel voor succes bij een raceteam", begint Servia, die vorig jaar twaalf keer uitkwam voor Panther Racing. "Met dit akkoord met RLL Racing gebeurt dat op meerdere vlakken. Ik ken het team nog uit 2009 toen we samen de Indy 500 deden. Dat ging goed totdat de oliepomp het begaf, maar het gaf ons wel het gevoel dat we samen tot iets moois in staat zijn. In hetzelfde jaar heb ik korte tijd doorgebracht bij Newman/Haas en daar ontmoette ik Graham Rahal. De chemie die we als teamgenoten hadden resulteerde in mooie resultaten."
