Hinchcliffe verhuist naar Schmidt Peterson Motorsports

James Hinchcliffe verdedigt volgend seizoen de eer van Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. De 27-jarige Canadees komt over van Andretti Autosport en hij volgt Simon Pagenaud op bij SPM. De drievoudig IndyCar-racewinnaar tekende een meerjarig contract bij Schmidt Peterson Motorsports.

Hinchcliffe: "SPM is een relatief jong team in de IndyCar. Wat ze in die korte tijd al bereikt hebben is verbluffend. Races winnen, competitief zijn op alle circuits en in de top vijf van het kampioenschap eindigen tussen alle grote namen is indrukwekkend van deze renstal. Omdat ze nog jong zijn is er ook nog genoeg ruimte voor verbetering en groei. Dat is een opwindende gedachte voor mij."
