Hawksworth bemant tweede auto van AJ Foyt Racing

Het team van AJ Foyt Racing breidt uit naar twee fulltime auto's voor het volgende IndyCar-seizoen. De renstal heeft ook al een coureur aangetrokken om de tweede bolide te bemannen. Jack Hawksworth is benoemd tot teamgenoot van Takuma Sato, wiens contract is verlengd.

Hawksworth: "Ik wil ooit races winnen in deze serie en ik heb het gevoel dat dit het ideale team is om dat mee te doen. Alle ingrediënten zijn aanwezig, zoals een goede sponsor in ABC en vakkundige mensen die snelle wagens bouwen. De potentie om iets speciaals neer te zetten is er zeker. Dat is een opwindend perspectief. Samen met AJ Foyt Racing wil ik naar grotere hoogte groeien."

Sato: "De continuïteit dat ik met dezelfde crew en mijn engineer Don Halliday kan blijven werken geeft ons meer momentum en zelfvertrouwen. We hebben dit jaar succesvolle weekenden beleefd, maar we hebben nog net dat beetje extra nodig. Dat het team volgend jaar uit twee auto's bestaat betekent een impuls. De tijd op de baan is beperkt en dit biedt de mogelijkheid om meer te leren."
