Valsecchi op auditie bij Schmidt Peterson

Davide Valsecchi test op 16 december op het circuit van Sebring voor het team van Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. De Italiaan is een van de kandidaten voor het stoeltje naast James Hinchcliffe. Na zijn GP2-titel in 2012 en reserverol bij Lotus in 2013 is het stil geworden rondom Valsecchi.

Nu duikt hij dus op bij Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. Sam Schmidt, een van de teameigenaren, vertelde aan Racer: "We zijn in gesprek met Davide. Hij is een gevestigde naam met die GP2-titel op zak en hij komt op 16 december op Sebring bij ons auditie doen, net als wat andere rijders."

"We staan in contact met zes coureurs voor 2015. Sommigen hebben niet genoeg geld voor een heel seizoen, anderen hebben wel een compleet budget. Dat nemen we allemaal mee in onze afweging. Hinchcliffe zal bij de test aanwezig zijn om Davide te helpen met de basis."
