Race St. Petersburg uitgesteld door hevige revenval

De IndyCar-race die gisteren verreden zou moeten worden in het Amerikaanse Sint Petersburg is uitgesteld. Wegens hevige regenval kon de race gisteren niet doorgaan en dus heeft de organisatie besloten om de start naar vandaag te verplaatsen.

Al tijdens de race van de Indy Lights begon het te regenen in de straten van St. Petersburg. Even later begon het daarbij ook hard te waaien en kwam de regen met bakken uit de hemel. In eerste instantie werd de start van de race met 45 minuten uitgesteld, maar nadat op sommige plaatsen het water maar liefst 15 centimeter hoog stond, werd besloten dat de race niet meer zou kunnen starten.

Daartoe heeft de organisatie besloten de race definitief te verplaatsen naar maandag. Om 10:00 uur lokale tijd (16:00 uur Nederlandse tijd) zal de race dan eindelijk van start gaan met op pole position Will Power.
