'Rossi in tussenjaar naar Dale Coyne Racing'

Alexander Rossi heeft de hoop op een toekomst in de Formule 1 nog niet opgegeven. De Amerikaanse coureur maakte afgelopen jaar deel uit van Marussia als testrijder, stond enkele malen op de rand van zijn debuut, maar zover kwam het nooit. Via een stoeltje in de IndyCar Series hoopt Rossi in 2016 dan daadwerkelijk aan de slag te kunnen als fulltime Formule 1-coureur.

Het inmiddels ter zielen gegane Marussia heeft afgelopen seizoen enkele malen op het punt gestaan om Max Chilton aan de kant te schuiven, ten favoure van Rossi. De Amerikaan reed uiteindelijk echter geen enkele race en heeft voor komend jaar geen plaats op de grid weten te bemachtigen. Rossi vestigt zijn hoop echter op het nieuwe team van Gene Haas, dat ik 2016 debuteert in de Formule 1, en wil met een stoeltje in de IndyCar Series in vorm blijven.

Volgens de laatste berichten zouden de gesprekken tussen Rossi en IndyCar-team Dale Coyne Racing zich in een vergevorderd stadium bevinden. Dat team wist afgelopen jaar met Carlos Huertas achter het stuur één race te winnen.
