Gonzalez debuteert bij Dale Coyne Racing

Dale Coyne Racing heeft weer een nieuwe coureur opgepikt. Rodolfo Gonzalez, voormalig testrijder in de Formule 1 bij Marussia, maakt dit weekend zijn debuut in de IndyCar. De Venezolaan bestuurt op het circuit van Barber Motorsports Park de auto met startnummer 18.

Gonzalez is al de vierde coureur in korte tijd die in die wagen stapt. Carlos Huertas ving het seizoen aan als bestuurder van de nummer 18. Hij raakte voor Long Beach zijn plek kwijt aan Rocky Moran junior, maar die brak zijn duim in de training. Als vervanger riep het team Conor Daly op.
