Eerste overwinning voor Power dit seizoen

Will Power heeft op het 'gewone' circuit van Indianapolis zijn eerste zege van dit seizoen geboekt. De regerend IndyCar-kampioen vertrok van pole position en snelde redelijk onbedreigd naar de winst. Graham Rahal kwam nog wel opzetten, maar moest aan de finish toch anderhalve seconde toegeven. De derde en laatste trede op het podium was voor Juan Pablo Montoya, de leider in de tussenstand.
