IndyCar Series roept twee nieuwe awards in het leven

De IRL IndyCar Series heeft twee nieuwe prijzen geïntroduceerd. Het betreft awards voor de best presterende coureur op ovals en voor de best presterende coureur op race- en stratencircuits. Het IndyCar-seizoen bestaat dit jaar voor het eerst in de geschiedenis van de serie uit meer races op 'gewone' banen dan op ovals.

IRL-baas Randy Bernard legt uit: IndyCar biedt een van de meest uitdagende en diverse kalenders uit de autosport. We willen coureurs die bepaalde disciplines het best onder de knie hebben waarderen. Dit platform geeft volgens ons meer waarde aan onze evenementen en creëert meer momentum voor coureurs en teams die uitblinken op ovals of op race- en stratencircuits.
