Adam Carroll tekent verrassend contract bij Andretti Autosport

Adam Carroll heeft verrassend een contract getekend met het IndyCar-team Andretti Autosport. De 27-jarige Carroll zal dit seizoen nog zijn debuut maken in de raceklasse, maar tijdens welke races hij in actie zal komen is nog niet bekend.

Carroll is een meervoudig GP2-racewinnaar, was testrijder van Honda en pakte vorig jaar de laatste titel van het A1GP-kampioenschap met Team Ierland. Dit seizoen staat Carroll nog altijd aan de zijlijn, maar daar zal later dit jaar nog verandering in komen. "Hij heeft een speciaal talent en hij zal een grote toekomst voor zich hebben bij Andretti Autosport", vertelde Michael Andretti.

Andretti wil Carroll dit jaar enkele races laten rijden zodat hij in 2011 het hele kampioenschap kan rijden in Amerika. "Het is belangrijk voor ons dat we hem deze kans geven om races te rijden dit jaar, zodat we goed kunnen bouwen voor de komende jaren. Ik ben erg benieuwd wat voor resultaten hij dit seizoen kan halen."

Het is nog niet bekend welke races Carroll zal gaan rijden dit seizoen.
