Organisatie diskwalificeert Dan Wheldon en Marco Andretti

Dan Wheldon en Marco Andretti zijn door de IndyCar-organisatie in Kansas gediskwalificeert na de kwalificatie van afgelopen nacht. Beide coureurs reden tijdens hun vier ronden durende run over de witte lijn, wat niet toegestaan is.

Wheldon en Andretti moeten hierdoor de race vanaf de laatste twee posities starten. Vooral voor Wheldon is dit een zware straf, nadat hij zich op een knappe derde positie had gekwalificeerd. Dit was zijn beste resultaat in bijna twee jaar tijd. Andretti kwalificeerde zich als elfde, maar moet de race nu vanaf de allerlaatste plaats, als 26e, moeten aanvangen.
