Bourdais nu op gelijke hoogte met Unser jr

Sebastien Bourdais heeft gisteren de ABC Supply Wisconsin 250 op de Milwaukee Mile op zijn naam geschreven. Daarmee komt de Fransman op 34 overwinningen in de IndyCar, goed voor een zevende plaats in de all-time rangschikking. Hij staat nu op gelijke hoogte met Al Unser junior.

Bourdais had zich slechts als elfde gekwalificeerd. "Op dit soort ovals kan het snel gaan, van held naar sul en andersom. Het draait allemaal om momentum en het team had me een geweldige auto gegeven. Dat gaf me hoop op een goed resultaat, totdat we het verknoeiden in de kwalificatie."

"Ik had nooit gedacht dat we iedereen nog in zouden halen en voor de winst konden gaan. Het is ongelooflijk. Dit is precies wat er mogelijk is op deze circuits. Als het pakket goed aanvoelt, dan is het heel erg speciaal."
