Road America in 2016 terug op de kalender

De IndyCar-organisatie heeft aangekondigd dat Road America volgend jaar weer op het schema prijkt. Het circuit nabij Elkhart Lake was in 2007 voor het laatst gastheer van een IndyCar-race. Het evenement is voor 2016 ingepland voor het weekend van 24 tot en met 26 juni.

Mark Miles, directeur van IndyCar-moederbedrijf Hulman & Co: "We weten hoeveel ontzag Road America de coureurs, teams en fans inboezemt en we hebben er alle vertrouwen in dat dit evenement een geweldige aanwinst voor de kalender voor volgend seizoen is."

"We zijn George Bruggentheis, voorzitter van het circuit, en zijn staf dankbaar voor de medewerking aan de terugkeer van de IndyCar naar een van de meest iconische banen van Noord-Amerika. Met dit evenement en Boston als nieuwkomer werken we toe naar de definitieve kalender voor 2016."
