Tony Kanaan racet ook in 2016 voor Ganassi

Tony Kanaan bemant komend seizoen weer de auto met startnummer 10 van Chip Ganassi Racing in de IndyCar. Sponsor NTT Data heeft zich net als vorig jaar aan de Braziliaan verbonden. Het wordt het derde opeenvolgende seizoen voor Kanaan in dienst van Ganassi.

De Indy 500-winnaar van 2013 kende vorig jaar een tegenvallend seizoen. Kanaan stond slechts drie keer op het podium en eindigde als achtste in het kampioenschap. Dat moet dit jaar beter. "Ik voel me zeer positief over 2016 en ik wil niets anders dan de combinatie NTT Data-Chip Ganassi Racing de eerste van vele overwinningen bezorgen", aldus Kanaan.

Vreemd dat de redactie nog steeds IRL gebruikt als ze nieuws aankondigen over de Indycar Series. IRL is namelijk samen met het failliete Champ-Car samen gegaan in 2008.
