IndyCar tot en met 2020 naar St Petersburg

St Petersburg is tot en met 2020 verzekerd van een plek op de IndyCar-kalender. De gemeenteraad van de stad in de staat Florida heeft daarmee ingestemd. St Petersburg is traditioneel de opening van het nieuwe seizoen. De komende drie edities staan gepland voor begin maart.

Promotor Kim Green: "We willen de burgemeester, de gemeenteraad en alle andere medewerkers bedanken voor de goedkeuring voor deze verlenging. De stad St Petersburg heeft een bijzondere plek in de geschiedenis van het racen en we kijken ernaar uit om hier nog vele jaren een IndyCar-race te organiseren."
