Power na medisch onderzoek fit bevonden

Het licht staat weer op groen voor Will Power om te racen. De Australiër miste de openingsrace van het IndyCar-seizoen in St Petersburg omdat hij de symptomen van een hersenschudding vertoonde. Tijdens de vrije training op vrijdagochtend was hij nog hard van de baan gevlogen.

Zaterdag veroverde Power nog wel pole position, maar hij klaagde over misselijkheid en hij faalde voor een SCAT-test. Oriol Servia verving hem voor de wedstrijd. Nader medisch onderzoek heeft uitgewezen dat Power niets mankeerde, behalve de naweeën van een oorinfectie.

Dokter Terry Trammell van de IndyCar-organisatie: "De artsen in het ziekenhuis van Miami hebben vastgesteld dat zijn klachten niet veroorzaakt waren door een hersenschudding en mogelijk verband hielden met een oorinfectie. Er is geen bewijs dat hij een hersenschudding heeft opgelopen bij zijn crash op vrijdag."
