Dario Franchitti pakt laatste pole van 2010, titelrivaal Power derde

Dario Franchitti heeft zijn achterstand op kampioenschapsleider Will Power verkleint naar elf punten. De Schot veroverde de pole position voor de finalerace in Homestead, terwijl rivaal Power de derde startplaats pakte.

Power had lange tijd de voorlopige pole in handen, totdat zijn enig overgebleven uitdager voor de titel Dario Franchitti 0.01432 seconden sneller was in zijn run. Daarna ging Franchitti's teamgenoot Scott Dixon nog naar de tweede startplaats, waardoor Power de laatste race van 2010 als derde van start zal gaan.

Ryan Briscoe eindigde de kwalificatie als vierde, terwijl de derde Penske-coureur, Helio Castroneves, niet verder kwam dan de teleurstellende tiende plaats. Hierbij moest hij onder andere nog Takuma Sato (negende) en Ed Carpenter (zevende) voor laten gaan, die beiden een sterke sessie reden. De Belg Bertrand Baguette kwam goed uit de verf in de kwalificatie en pakte de veertiende startplaats.

Het verschil tussen de titelkandidaten Power en Franchitti is nog maar elf punten. Dat betekend dat Franchitti kampioen kan worden door de race te winnen en het meeste aantal ronden aan de leiding te rijden. Dan maakt het helemaal niet meer uit waar Power eindigt. Hoe dan ook, we kunnen ons opmaken voor een spannende avondrace in Homestead-Miami.

  Waarom indycar.com? In Nederland hebben we de luxe dat Carchannel het lekker live uitzendt (Heb je wel digitale ontvanger nodig).
  
  En sinds Allard daar weg is, is het commentaar er met stappen op vooruit gegaan.
  
  Maar anyway hoop weer op een titel van Dario.

Het is alleen dat ik mijn UPC pakket al meer dan een jaar niet uitgepakt staat :) Ik download het meestal via site(s)maat 1uur is een mooie tijd.
