Ryan Hunter-Reay verlengt contract bij Andretti Autosport

Ryan Hunter-Reay zal tot en met eind 2012 verbonden blijven aan Andretti Autosport. In navolging van het vertrek van Tony Kanaan bij het team, heeft Hunter-Reay wél zijn contract weten te verlengen.

Hunter-Reay begon het seizoen met part-time sponsoring, maar later werd er genoeg geld gevonden voor een compleet seizoen in de IndyCar Series bij Andretti Autosport. Uiteindelijk pakte Hunter-Reay de overwinning in Long Beach en eindigde hij als zevende in het kampioenschap. Andretti is erin geslaagd om voldoende geld bijeen te rapen om het contract van de Braziliaanse coureur tot en met 2012 te verlengen.

"We zijn erg blij dat we het contract met Ryan voor enkele jaren hebben kunnen verlengen", vertelde Michael Andretti. "Ryan heeft dit seizoen bewezen dat hij een waardevolle aanvulling is voor ons team en het was de juiste keuze om hem begin 2010 naar het team te halen. Hij maakt tijdens elke race kans op de overwinning."
